French Polynesia

Polynesian greeters in Moorea

Over the past 3 days we were in French Polynesia.  We went to Tahiti first.  We walked around the market with local crafts.  Then we walked in the town, we visited the supermarket and the flower market.  I bought some nice flowers for our room.  Grandpa, we didn’t see the food trucks because it was Sunday and we left too early.

We saw a show that had local dancers performing hula songs and dancing. It was pretty cool.

I don't think he had anything else on

On Monday we were in Moorea. We went on a snorkeling trip. First we stopped to swim with the stingrays and the black tip sharks. The stingray liked my white shirt a lot. The sharks were cool.

Next stop was a motu (small island) where we had a BBQ and went snorkeling for several hours.  We saw lots of colorful fish.  My favorite fish was a lion fish.

There were also rays here as well. The water was shallow and was very light blue. On the trip back to the ship we saw hotels with rooms over the water. One hotel even has dolphins you can swim with. My mom & dad and grandma & grandpa have stayed there before.

At the pier I bought a t shirt with a tiki tattoo pattern.

On Tues we were in Bora Bora.  We went shopping in the local town.  We saw stands selling fresh fruit and fish called bonita.

After that we went to beach and swam for 2 hours.  On the way home we stopped at a famous restaurant called Bloody Mary’s to get a souvenir.  I went  shopping at the craft market and got a cool instrument and a tiki necklace.

On our tender ride back to the boat the local men were racing behind our waves in their outrigger canoes.
